Lois Y. Haddad was born Lois Yvonne Trump in Arcadia, Florida. Arcadia is a small farming and ranching community in central Florida. Family values and a warm simple style of rural America were the features of life in her early years. A younger brother, Robert, and her parents made up the family.

Lois' parents, Duane Trump, a local postman, and Florida Trump were long time residents of Arcadia. Lois actually attended class in the second grade sitting at a desk, which bore the initials "CDT" carved there by her father when he was in the second grade. After completing high school in Arcadia, Lois moved on to her nursing education at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL where she earned her R.N. from the University of Miami School of Nursing.

Soon thereafter Lois moved to Los Angeles, CA and worked at the UCLA Medical Center Hospital as head nurse from 3-11pm, in the Pediatric Department. It was as a nurse for the children who were ill and having surgery that she noticed the benefit of ""Sleep Talk". She continued to sharpen and expand her technique and use this comforting and calming approach to help the children face their challenges in the hospital.

Now Lois has written a book about the technique with "how to" instructions and model scripts to show parents, grandparents and prospective parents the way to use this method to help direct and modify behavior and to handle the stress of change.

Lois and husband George will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in October 2000. They have lived in Costa Mesa, CA for 36 years.
